The Twelve Days to Christmas

The Twelve Days to Christmas

Review: The Twelve Days to Christmas is an easy-to-read story about a woman who finds out that her boyfriend is going to propose to her at Christmas while visiting her family but isn’t really sure how she feels about that or what her answer will be. This story highlights the importance… of trust, honesty and being yourself in a relationship. Though sometimes the story was a little predictable overall it was a very enjoyable read and I really liked Ms. Gorman’s writing. A great story for anyone who has ever felt conflicted in a relationship. This book was received for free through Goodreads First Reads.

The Marriage Merger

The Marriage Merger

Stars

Review:
A fun and sexy read. Three stars.

The
Marriage Merger is the fourth book in Jennifer Probst’s Marriage to a
Billionaire series. This book differs slightly from the others in the series in
that it is more a marriage of coercion than a marriage of convenience. Otherwise
it follows the standard formula for this type of story: the couple gets married
against their wishes, ends up falling in love and lives happily ever after.
Despite the predictability of the story I never the less found it enjoyable.

As with many books written these days Probst adds a little bit of Fifty
Shades into her story which adds an extra bit of sexy fun.

What I didn’t
like. Sawyer. At some points his character was just too aggressive and seems to
pass from confident pursuit into a case of sexual harassment.

What I did
like: Julietta. Julietta is an amazingly strong female character who has
succeeded in her professional life but finds herself lacking in romance. In The
Marriage Merger Julietta is able to discover the elusive element that has been
missing from her love life.

I was really torn about how I felt about
this book. Overall I enjoyed it but during the parts where Sawyer seems like he
is sexually harassing Julietta I had a hard time continuing to read. At other
times it was hard to put down. If you are a follower of this series you should
enjoy this book but don’t expect it to live up to the three previous books in
the series.

Shadow’s Claim

Shadow’s Claim

Review: Shadow’s Claim is the first in the new Dacians series. Trehan is a type of Vampire called Dacian that travel in mist and keep themselves unseen to other immortals. While on an assassination mission he sees Princess Bettina and recognizes her as his mate. In order to win her he must enter into a midevil tournamen…t but by doing so he must reveal him self to other immortals and may never return home.
I loved Trehan’s character. He is an assassin by trade. He is very protective of his mate but will do anything for her. He also supports her interests in a way she hasn’t had with her friends and family. Bettina’s character I liked a little less. She has gone through a trama and is working through it so for most of the story she is a scared and cowering person. Most of the Kresley Cole’s stories feature a stronger heroine so this was quite a change. This book is much longer than most of the books by Kresley Cole and although I liked it at the end it was kind of drawn out. Still, this book is definitely worth reading.

Review: In the forth book of the Lords of Deliverance series we are presented with the story of the last of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Reseph AKA Pestilence wakes up naked, surrounded by snow and with no memory of who he is or what he has done. Beautiful Jillian Cardiff finds Reseph brings him back to her remote …mountain home, where she has moved to recover from her demon attack, to help him recover and regain his memory.
Larissa has included all the things we love best about her books. A sexy bad-boy demon who finds his true love, smoking hot sex scenes and a chance for him to reform himself to a smoking hot baddie fighting on the side of good.
A must read for anyone who loves paranormal romance!

Review:
The Naked Husband is a story about
a middle age man in an unsatisfying marriage. The book focuses on the path he
chooses to take and living in the aftermath of that choice.

As I understand it, this book is based off a true story. While the writing is average
I liked the brutal honesty and the chance to see how men really think and
feel.

Review: Nora Hamilton wakes up one morning to find that her husband, police officer Brendan Hamilton, has committed suicide during the night. She is devastated and believes that there must have been something that caused him to do this. As she begins to look into Brendan’s past she finds her path blocked… by people in the town who will go to extreme measures to keep their secrets hidden.
This is a very well written story and I enjoyed reading it very much. It is complex with many different charters and motivations. The main character really draws you into her emotions. The story keeps you in suspense right up to the end. There was one thing mentioned by the author that I feel should have been addressed in the book. The author states that Nora’s sister and mother used to love Brenden but now hate him. Is it because he committed suicide? That is probably what I would infer but it was never outwardly addressed.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery and suspense or any who just wants to read a really well written book.
